RIDGEFIELD -- A third day of deliberations has concluded with no verdict in the extortion and bribery trial of a northern New Jersey mayor and an associate caught up in last year's federal sting.
Jurors are deciding the fate of Ridgefield Mayor Anthony Suarez and tax preparer Vincent Tabbachino.
After sending several notes to the court on the first two days requesting transcripts and clarifications on the law, the panel made no such requests today.
Before leaving Monday, jurors told U.S. District Judge Jose Linares they had reached an impasse on some counts.
Suarez and Tabbachino are accused of taking money from a federal informant posing as a corrupt developer in a cash-for-influence scheme. Both men testified during the two-week trial.
