TRENTON — A proposal to seek a Veterans Administration hospital for southern New Jersey is advancing in the state Legislature.
A bill to set up an 18-member task force to examine the need for a hospital to serve veterans in the eight-county South Jersey area was approved by the state Assembly earlier this week. It next goes to the Senate.
The Press of Atlantic City reports that the task force would have a year to report its findings to the governor and the Legislature.
There are veterans clinics in Cape May, Ventnor and Vineland, but no full-service VA hospital.
