GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP — A proposed bill would make it mandatory for anyone who kills a police dog to serve five years in jail, according to a report on CourierPostOnline.com.
Two South Jersey lawmakers have suggested what they called "Schultz's Law," named for a Gloucester Township K-9 who died in the line of duty last week. Police will gold a memorial service for the animal Thursday at a Gloucester Township park.
A memorial service with full police honors for the dog is to be held Thursday afternoon at a Gloucester Township park. Schultz was allegedly tossed into traffic on Route 42 while the K-9 was trying to subdue a robbery suspect on the night of Nov. 30, the report said.
Shultz is featured in the above video. He is the "Sable" colored German Shepherd, not the black German Shepherd.
