TRENTON — A state law that will mandate the recycling of discarded televisions and computer equipment — instead of landfilling them — goes into effect on Jan. 1, according to a report by Philly.com.
The law goes into effect at a strategic time, according to the report, right after the holidays and before the Super Bowl, when people generally upgrade their televisions. Officials are hoping to see the amount of e-waste recycled rise, from about 10 to 12 million pounds to 50 million pounds, the report said.
