TRENTON — New Jersey lawmakers are set to vote today on far-reaching changes to the way people can gamble.

Measures to expand off-track betting options and create exchange wagering on horse racing are up for votes. So too is a measure that would push legalized sports betting one step closer to reality.

New Jersey is trying to overturn a federal ban on sports betting and wants to allow it at Atlantic City casinos and the state's racetracks.

Lawmakers also want to expand the number of off-track betting parlors and allow Internet betting on New Jersey horse races for residents of other states.

They also want to establish exchange wagering, which allows bettors to wager against each other on the outcome of races. The exchange would match the bettors and see that the winner is paid.
