TRENTON — Gov. Chris Christie will hold a press conference this afternoon to discuss standardbred horse racing.
The press conference, called an hour in advance, will concern "a significant development concerning standardbred racing at the Meadowlands," according to a press release from the governor's office.
Christie last week vetoed the Meadowlands schedule, saying more time was needed to review the results of a study that recommended the state get out of the horse racing business.
Democrats were urging Christie to include racing at the Meadowlands and Monmouth Park in an agreement to overhaul regulations for casinos in Atlantic City.
