TRENTON — Gov. Chris Christie will tour the conservative radio circuit this afternoon including an interview with nationally syndicated host Sean Hannity.
Christie, who has come under fire this week for remaining on vacation in Disney World while the state was hit with a blizzard, returned on Friday and held a press conference where he defended his administration and his decision to remain away.
Christie called into 101.5 FM Jim Gearhart's morning show today and discussed his decision to remain away. Christie said he wasn't going to break a promise to his children to take them to Disney World and wasn't going to tell Lt. Gov. Kim Guadagno not to go on a vacation with her ailing father. Listen here.
"It's not something that I think will happen again because we're both aware of having to coordinate our schedules," Christie said.
On the show, Christie said the state is looking at ways to waive fees that were levied against people who were stuck on state roads and had to be towed away during the snow storm. Christie said he's already made the decision to waive the fines for cars that were on the New Jersey Turnpike and the Garden State Parkway.
Later this afternoon, Christie will appear on conservative talk show host and Fox News anchor Hannity's radio show at 4:35 p.m. His show is broadcast on New York's WABC 770 and on their website.
Then he will speak at 4:50 p.m. on Dom Giordano's show, who is on Philadelphia's WPHT 1210 AM and simulcast online.
Finally, he will appear at 5:05 p.m. on Steve Malzberg's show on New York's WOR 710 AM, which is also online.
