TRENTON — A state Senate committee moved a bill forward today geared at boosting bus service to Atlantic City by exempting out-of-state companies from a tax, according to a report from the Press of Atlantic City.
Lawmakers say the tax on bus operators, first implemented in 2001, has led to a 40 percent decline in bus traffic to the city during the last decade. The Senate Budget and Appropriations Committee approved the bill 13-0.
