TRENTON — The New Jersey Department of Transportation admitted Thursday that before this week's big storm had even hit, the agency had exhausted its entire $20 million budget for storm cleanup, according to a report on MyCentralJersey.com.
Wednesday's snowstorm was the region's sixth this winter, and the price tag for cleanup of the first five was $25 million, the report said. An estimate for the cost of this week's storm was not yet available.
New Jersey has applied for $53 million in federal aid to recoup some expenses of the Dec. 26 blizzard, the state's worst storm this season, the report said.
