TRENTON — New Jersey Sen. Frank Lautenberg says he has completed his chemotherapy treatments for lymphoma.

But the 86-year-old Democrat says he won't know until later this month if the cancer is gone.

Lautenberg, who returned to work shortly after being diagnosed, told The Record on today that he feels "terrific."

He said he lost weight and his hair while being treated.

Lautenberg, the Senate's second-oldest member, was hospitalized Feb. 15 after falling at his New Jersey home. He was treated for a bleeding ulcer, and it was announced Feb. 19 that the B-cell lymphoma was found in his stomach.

He began the chemotherapy treatment a few days later, and returned to the Senate on March 2 while receiving periodic treatments.
