TRENTON — After making a surprise visit yesterday at the hotel where a new legislative map is being hammered out, Gov. Chris Christie is in meetings today at the Statehouse.
Christie, who has no public schedule today, is participating in internal meetings in Trenton, said spokesman Kevin Roberts.
Negotiations by the redistricting commission continue today at the Heldrich in New Brunswick. The commission made up for five Republicans, five Democrats and an 11th tie-breaking member, must decide on a new legislative district map by Sunday. The map could be pivotal in deciding the political majority control of the Legislature after the fall election, when all 120 lawmakers are up for reelection.
Tuesday, Christie will host a town hall meeting in Hammonton in Atlantic County. The 2 p.m. town hall meeting will be at the New Jersey Manufacturers Company Facility in the atrium. The address for the town hall is 840 12th Street.
