Christie, who had daughter Bridgett and son Patrick with him, talked about the highs and lows of being governor, encouraging one kid to try for his office one day.
What are the perks of being the governor of New Jersey?
Aside from having a police detail (whom he called his "new best friends") and a state-owned beach house, Christie says it's that the police close the Lincoln Tunnel every time he rides through, forcing all of the other motorists to wait.
When he went to a the Time 100 Gala in Manhattan on Tuesday and passed through a vacant tunnel, Christie said his wife First Lady Mary Pat turned to him and said, "This doesn't get old."
If Christie could change only one thing in New Jersey what would it be?
"The Legislature," Christie joked, but added that he wants to make the state more affordable for future generations.
Does the governor work on the weekends?
"No," the governor said, but added that he is working in Boston this weekend.
What's his favorite sport? What are his favorite colors?
Baseball is his favorite sport, Christie said. And his favorite colors are Mets blue and orange.
In what is one of the most frequently posed questions, one girl asked, Are you going to run for president?
The question prompted laughter from the adults in the room. "No," Christie responded, then explained that he likes New Jersey and doesn't want to make his young children move to Washington, D.C.
How about for re-election?
"We'll see," he said. "There are complicated election laws affecting that answer."
