TRENTON — A Bloomberg poll released today found declining support for Gov. Chris Christie.
Fifty-one percent of respondents said they will definitely or probably vote for another candidate in the next gubernatorial election. Thirty-nine percent said they will definitely or probably vote for Christie.
The survey also said more people's opinions of Christie have worsened than improved. Nineteen percent said they feel a lot better about the governor since he took office, while 29 percent said they feel a lot worse.
In total, 53 percent said they have an unfavorable view of Christie, while 43 percent have a favorable view. When it came to his job performance, 51 percent were unfavorable, and 44 percent were favorable.
The poll surveyed 1,302 residents from June 20 through June 23 -- before Christie's big victory on overhauling public worker benefits.
The poll's margin of error is 2.7 percentage points.
