But did he ever vow not to cut state aid to public schools?
PolitiFact New Jersey waded through a number of publications to vet state Senate President Stephen Sweeney's (D-Gloucester) recent claim that the now-governor promised he wouldn't cut education funding — and found conflicting evidence.
However, the governor recently chimed in and said he did make that promise.
We rate Sweeney's claim to be True.
