Even after Gov. Chris Christie signed a state budget, debate rages over school funding in New Jersey.
State Sen. Jim Whelan, for example, issued a press release days after the budget's passage stating that a Democrat budget would have expanded school aid and fully fund all schools. The release criticized Christie, saying he slashed aid in the budget and instead gave a tax cut to millionaires.
Christie, however, said his budget actually increased school aid in New Jersey by $850 million from the previous year.
