PARSIPPANY — School board members in a northern New Jersey town have voted to rescind the contract of the school superintendent who Gov. Chris Christie labeled a "poster boy" for greed.
In a 6-3 vote Tuesday, the Parsippany-Troy Hills school board cited threats by the state to reduce aid because Superintendent LeRoy Seitz's contact exceeded a state-imposed salary cap.
Seitz would have earned $220,565 this coming school year. The state cap is $175,000.
The board says it will offer Seitz another deal within the guidelines.
The Daily Record of Parsippany reported the board noted Seitz had said through an attorney that he planned to sue if his contract was voided.
Seitz declined comment after the meeting.
