Assemblyman Ralph Caputo's bill requires parents to report missing children within 12 hours.
Sen. Nick Sacco and Assemblyman John Wisniewski are sponsoring legislation making it a felony not to report a death or to wait more than a day before telling authorities a child has gone missing.
Meanwhile, Assembly Republicans Domenick DiCicco, John Amodeo and Vince Polistina's bill strengthens penalties for failing to report a missing child.
At least 16 states have introduced a Caylee's Law.
