TRENTON — Gov. Chris Christie is back at work today in Trenton after being hospitalized Thursday following an asthma attack.
A smiling Christie walked in just after 11 a.m., holding his jacket over one shoulder and carrying a briefcase in his other hand.
Asked he how was doing after a short stay in the hospital on Thursday, he responded: "Fabulous, better than I have any right to."
The governor said Thursday he had four private meetings on his schedule in the Statehouse. Christie, when exiting the hospital, said that if he wasn't feeling up to it, he would have remained home today.
On Thursday, the nation's attention turned to the governor when he suffered an asthma attack and was taken to Somerset Medical Center by his State Police detail. He remained at the hospital for about eight hours, walking out of the building on his own after being discharged and taking questions from the press.
Christie was en route to a bill signing and press conference in Hillsborough when he began having trouble breathing. He said he alerted the troopers who were accompanying him and they quickly took him to the hospital. A battery of tests were conducted on the governor and ruled out any other health ailments, including cardiac problems, he said.
