Former Gov. Tom Kean credits a bipartisan working relationship for helping him build the last nuclear power plant in New Jersey and the United States.
The only problem with that is Kean's statement is not entirely accurate, PolitiFact New Jersey found.
While construction of the Hope Creek nuclear plant was completed during Kean's tenure as governor, the last nuclear power plant built in the United States is the Watts Bar nuclear plant in Tennessee, which commenced commercial operations in 1996.
