TRENTON — The state’s Treasury Department announced today that it has extended tax deadlines for businesses and individuals disrupted by Hurricane Irene.
Deadlines for sales, income, corporate, estate and array of other taxes have been pushed back to October 31, giving residents and businesses more than an additional month in some cases to make the payments, according to the treasury department.
The federal Internal Revenue Service is offering similar relief for businesses and individuals.
The relaxed deadlines also applies to companies who are located outside of New Jersey, but do business in the state, the treasury department said.
Taxpayers who have received a billing notice from the state should call the Division of Taxation’s customer service center to explain their circumstances, the treasury department said.
For more information, taxpayers should call (609) 292-6400.
