Union leader Hetty Rosenstein wants state taxpayers to know that government workers' pensions aren't as lavish as some claim.
In fact, Rosenstein, state director of the Communication Workers of America, said in a news release that the average state pension, including managers, is $23,000 a year, and $14,000 for local government workers.
But a PolitiFact New Jersey investigation found that those figures climb depending on when some workers retired and how long they served.
