New Jersey Democrats have been pretty consistent when it comes to tax increases, according to Republican state Sen. Tom Kean Jr.
The lawmaker claimed recently that Democrats raised taxes 115 times in 10 years, driving jobs out of the state. A PolitiFact New Jersey investigation, however, has found that it's not only taxes that were raised: Democrats — with some Republican support — also raised fees and made changes in tax policies during that time. But there are too many other factors at work to blame tax and fee increases for job losses.
