TRENTON — A suspicious white powder covering a letter delivered to Lt. Gov. Kim Guadagno's office Monday was determined to be baking powder, according to State Police.
A hazardous materials team was called to the Statehouse at about noon to investigate the powdery letter, which was found by an employee among a package of mail, Sgt. Brian Polite said.
Guadagno's office was quarantined for a short time while authorities investigated, Polite said. The State Police are looking into where the powder and the letter came from, Polite said.
