The former Democratic governor claims he prohibited pay-to-play for state and county contracts
Money and politics in New Jersey sometimes make for an unhealthy marriage, but according to former Gov. Jim McGreevey, he "prohibited" the practice of making political donations in exchange for state and county contracts.
McGreevey deserves credit for kick-starting pay-to-play reform in 2004, but the former governor overstated the extent of his actions during a recent radio interview.
