TRENTON — New Jersey Network's replacement will cover its first statewide election today, more than three months after the state-owned operation went off the air.
NJTV is produced by New York's largest PBS broadcasting station, WNET-TV.
The station debuted its first live newscast on Monday night and plans to follow up with special election coverage today. It's the first election under new management.
Several lawmakers have criticized the station for taking too long to get up and running. NJTV aired cartoons, for example, instead of breaking news events such as when New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie announced he wouldn't run for president.
