Gov. Chris Christie will meet Queen Elizabeth II of Britain this evening in New York City to lay a wreath at Ground Zero.
“This is definitely the first time that the governor will be rubbing elbows with British royalty,” said Christie spokesman Michael Drewniak.
Drewniak said members of Christie’s family will be there as well. Also present will be New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg and New York Gov. David Paterson.
The Queen is scheduled to arrive in New York City this afternoon, where she will also give a speech at the United Nations. Her entire visit is scheduled to last five hours.
