One of the gang's alleged leaders is charged with three killings
TRENTON — Fourteen Trenton residents, all alleged members of the Gangster Killer Bloods gang, have been indicted for racketeering, officials announced today.
One of the gang’s alleged leaders, Bernard Green, was charged with three killings.
“The indictment in this case represents countless hours of investigation by all of the law enforcement agencies here today,” said Mercer County Prosecutor Joseph Bocchini. “These investigators and prosecutors left no stone unturned.”
Green, 28, was arrested on July 13. In addition to racketeering and murder, he is charged with gun trafficking, leading an organized criminal organization and various drug and weapons offenses.
Four other alleged gang members were also charged with murder: Anthony Coleman, 25, Curtis Hawkins, 23, Keith Parker, 29, and Richard Jenkins, 25.
One of the homicide victims was Sharee Voorhees, 22, who was hit by stray gunfire while on her porch in Trenton.
“Sharee Voorhees tragic death in August 2005 brought home to Trenton residents the senselessness of the gang violence that was enveloping the city and the danger it posed to everyone, not just gang members,” Attorney General Paula Dow said. “We are determined to see that justice is done for her.”
The indictment focus on violence between three rival Bloods factions in 2005, when the Gangster Killers faced off with the Nine Trey Gangsters and Sex Money Murder.
Trenton, county and state authorities worked with the Drug Enforcement Administration during the investigation.
A fifteenth person, Robert Christie, 24, of Trenton, was also named in the indictment. An alleged leader in the Nine Trey Gangsters, he’s charged with aggravated assault for firing shots at the home of a rival gang member.
