TRENTON — New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie is planning to visit the headquarters of the Delaware River Port Authority in Camden today.
The agency, which operates bridges and trains connecting New Jersey and Pennsylvania in the Philadelphia area, has been trying to implement quick reforms since last month.
But Christie, a Republican, has complained that the politically connected Democrat-appointed board hasn't done everything he wants.
The DRPA has eliminated the perk of free tolls and train fares for employees. The agency announced it will put nearly all its contracts out to bid and require commissioners to make financial disclosures. It also says it's getting out of the economic development business.
