TRENTON — The state Senate has confirmed two more members of Gov. Chris Christie’s cabinet.
The Senate voted 40-0 to confirm Lori Grifa as commissioner of the Department of Community Affairs and 37-1 to confirm Hal Wirths as labor commissioner.
Grifa, who once served as chief of staff to former Attorney General David Samson, and Wirths, a Sussex County freeholder, have been working as acting commissioners since being nominated in January.
Wirths has said he will step down from his freeholder post once confirmed.
Only one nominee for Christie’s cabinet remains unconfirmed: Allison Blake, who Christie nominated last week to head the Department of Children and Families. She replaces former Acting Commissioner Janet Rosenzweig, who withdrew her nomination and resigned over questions about her role in a sex research organization.
