TRENTON — First Lady Mary Pat Christie helped launch a capital program to benefit the state FoodBank, aimed at expanding and updating existing facilities and warehouses.
Christie, the wife of Gov. Chris Christie, hopes to draw attention the $15 million campaign, being conducted along with private-sector financial service companies. Last year, FoodBank provided 37 million pounds of food to families in need.
“Kathleen DiChiara and her team at the Community FoodBank have done a wonderful job to ensure that New Jersey families in need have a meal on the table,” the first lady said in a news release. “Now is the perfect opportunity for the private sector to step in to assist those efforts and I commend David Tepper of Appaloosa Management, L.P. for getting involved and spearheading this capital campaign that ultimately will help so many people in our communities.”
Other groups participating in the capital campaign are: Bank of America Charitable Foundation, Chatham Asset Management LLC, The PNC Bank Foundation, Goldman Sachs, J.P. Morgan, Blenheim Capital Management LLC, Columbus Hill Capital Management L.P., Redwood Capital Management LLC, and Sandalwood Securities Inc.
