A group of teachers packed the meeting, and half in attendance booed
FAIR LAWN — Gov. Chris Christie talked up his controversial employee pension and health care overhaul bill in a town hall meeting today.
Christie talked up the bill, that is one of the focal points of his agendas, at a town hall meeting in Fair Lawn yesterday. He touted the legislation as a bipartisan effort.
"We have support with both political parties to do this, it isn’t like other states," Christie said.
Fair Lawn schools finished for the summer yesterday and a group of teachers packed the meeting. The crowd was less friendly than most of his meetings with about half the attendees booing instead of clapping when he went through his proposals.
"As always in our democracy, there will be people who disagree," Christie said.
