TRENTON — Verizon Communication Inc. has been granted an injunction to limit picketing by striking union workers in New Jersey.
Company spokesman Rich Young said Friday it sought the injunction after incidents of sabotage, harassment and obstruction at its facilities.
The injunction limits picketing by members of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers.
Verizon obtained similar injunctions in New York, Pennsylvania and Delaware.
About 45,000 Verizon landline workers from Massachusetts to Virginia went on strike Aug. 7, protesting demands for contract givebacks.
Both Verizon and the CWA have filed unfair labor practice charges against each other, claiming the other side hasn't bargained in good faith. Verizon is making the same claim against the IBEW.
A spokeswoman for IBEW Local 827 in East Windsor declined to comment.
