During a boardwalk stroll in Belmar on Aug. 10, Gov. Chris Christie said "since I introduced my budget — first budget — in March of 2010, we've created 50,000 new private-sector jobs for the people of this state."
His statistic is largely correct. But PolitiFact New Jersey spoke with a number of experts, most of whom agreed that it's difficult to prove whether any governor's policies lead directly to private-sector job growth. We rate his claim Half True.
