In 2nd District state Senate race, a battle of words between incumbent Sen. Jim Whelan and challenger Vince Polistina results in a Mostly False ruling
With Election Day about a month away, the campaign mailers are out and slinging accusations across party lines.
In South Jersey's 2nd District state Senate race, the New Jersey Democratic State Committee accuses Republican Vince Polistina of making $70,000 in taxpayer-funded salaries in addition to drawing a government pension.
But a PolitiFact New Jersey investigation has found that the Democratic candidate — incumbent state Sen. Jim Whelan — is doing exactly what the Democratic committee is accusing Whelan's opponent of doing.
