TRENTON — Authorities in New Jersey today will announce civil charges stemming from an $8.5 million Ponzi scheme.

Officials also will announce criminal charges against a Philadelphia lawyer in the case stemming from an unrelated $1 million theft.

No names or details have been released.

Attorney General Paula Dow will have more to say at an afternoon news conference.
